One to One Yoga Therapy Psychotherapy

Martine is a highly qualified and experienced Trauma Therapist and Senior Yoga Teacher, she provides expertise to other Professional and is a highly regarded Yoga Psychology Trainer.

One to one yoga therapy sessions provide a more individually, holistic approach to therapy allowing participants to engage in a safe, individual, personalised approach to their healing journey. In these sessions we have the space and time to explore healing through both body based somatic work and through reflection and development of insight into your own personal journey.

Yoga is about the journey, through movement we enage the nervous system and can practice patience and kindness toward our bodies and more awareness of the relationship between our protective system and our bodies natural adaptive system which relies on sensory and spatial awareness to inform our adaptive communication system to provide the right amount of energy and fear to support what we are facing. These sessions allow for a tailored approach to bringing your system back to an optimal state of arousal to allow you to be more adaptive to your environment and have a more fulfilled life.

Yoga brings us into the here and now, in this supprted space, we can allow our brain’s old threat based wiring to be activated and develop the capacity to stay with the present moment where the old threat is no longer present. This allows us to make choices, based on what we want now and take effective action. In these sessions we can work with how you are feeling on the day, for example managing hyperarousal or lethargy, or supporting exhaustion or overthinking. We can also work on what comes up during the session in relation to the movment that we do together.

Our bodies hold our trauma and emotion. As we move, breathe, activate and balance our nervous system we make space for the energy of emotion to start to be realised. As the brain rewires you may find that you have more inclination and sense of safety to talk and express what you are feeling and attempt to make meaning from it. In this space we can explore what our energy system is surfacing.
